Madam X

This afternoon I attended the anniversary meeting of the Victoria County Czech Heritage Society.  Boy Howdy. To sum it up, the average age at these meetings is 60ish.  Which is kind of sad.  They drink beer, listen to polkas and waltzes and mingle.  Cool.  Then they try to get down to business.  Well the old people dont hear half of what is said, and dont understand the other half of what is said so when they form opinions on topics, everybody's opinion is messed up or wrong and different.  So there is much bickering and back-and-forth and so on.  They eventually get things done, but not without pain and anguish....at least for the "youngsters" in the crowd.
The thing about this group that set me off (and I still can hardly believe it happened) happened to my Travis and Sara (brother and sister-in-law).  They had started to get involved after their marriage and after moving to Victoria.  Sara had even run for office.... and I think even held a minor office for a year.....?? The current President had been president for at least two years that I know of.  But it was time for another election.  And this group is always trying to get the "young blood" involved.  So Sara ran for President.  Which is a big role, but not one that she couldn't handle.  And she won.  Easily (if I recall correctly).  But before she could take her spot, the previous year's president basically proclaimed himself dictator.  His wife got up and said how much being president meant to him (this was the 25th anniversary year and 25th annual Festival year also) so it was a big deal to him and blah blah blah..... DICTATORSHIP.  THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF DICTATORSHIP.  Even after a by-the-book majority vote after another person was elected, he proclaimed himself president instead.
But anyways, that gets my blood pressure up.  And I'm too young to have blood pressure problems.

Goodnight, unfair world.

How to use this.

I'm not sure what to post on this weblog.
Nobody cares what goes on in my day-to-day life, and I don't really want to divulge personal information or feelings.  What does that leave?

A journey.   To find appropriate words and punctuation to fill the pages.  Join me.

On a personal note, I am keeping said personal information and feelings in a book.  No.  No, not a diary.  Its just an empty notebook I had left over from school.  And some of my thoughts are making their way in there.
But you cant see that.  Not until I die at least.
But I think my kids or grandkids or great grandkids etc. would maybe like to read some raw thoughts and feelings of someone in this day and age.  I know I'd be interested in reading what my grandparents or great grandparents would have wrote if they had.

Dad told me the other day that my grandparents house (built in 1967) was built using some lumber from my grandparents' parents' house.  Evidently, when my great grandparents built the house (AKA the "original house" from now on) they used 1"x12" lumber for supports in the attic.  They would nail together two 1x12s to basically make a 2x12.  Back to the story though, when my great grandparents built the original house, they wrote things on the inside of one (or some) of these "2x12s".  Then, when my grandparents built the current house, they used those boards that had been written on.  So in the attic of the current house, there is a "wood-blog" of sorts.  Dad said they wrote random things such as who built the house and who was living in it....so and so is doing this in their life right now, so and so are the neighbors, so and so is an asshole....etc.
Neat stuff.  Thats my story for the day.
